I dont think Sierra is my option as my hardware wouldnt allow me to profit from half of Sierras fun. I generally try out the Developer builds of the new OS, and what I've seen thusfar over a few revisions is that until the RTM build, there's generally at least a bit of a performance hit. I don't notice any slowdown, but I also have >10% of my disk free.Ĭlose to the same model rMBP as OP - 2012 15", with 512GB SSD, 16GB memory. I generally don't reboot mine unless there's a system update, or the rare crash.
